Some common Question & Answers
How long are the lessons?30mins/45mins/1 hour lessons are available. Private and group lessons are available.
How do I start?Please phone us on 01295 730576 or 07534540863 or drop in to Valley Farm to arrange a suitable lesson at a convenient time.
Are the staff qualified?We are a British Horse Society approved Centre. Our instructors all hold teaching qualifications including UKCC level 2, and BHSII.
What do I wear?You can hire a new “PAS015” standard hat for £2.00 per lesson. Boots are available to hire for £1.00 per lesson or shoes/boots with a small heel and flat sole. Leggings or trousers are more comfortable than wearing jeans, tops must cover the shoulders.
Will I be safe?Yes, we will do our utmost to keep you safe. However horses and ponies may sometimes be unpredictable and each rider rides at their own risk.
How old do I have to be?We are able to cater for anyone from the age of 4 and with a maximum weight limit of 14 stone.
Will I have the same instructor each time?Yes, we endeavor to maintain continuity with Instructors. However, factors such as sickness, holidays etc need to be taken into consideration. We aim to give a friendly personal service with small classes to enable good communication between our instructors and clients.
When can I ride?All year round except Christmas, Boxing and New years Day. We are closed on Mondays.
Can parents watch?Yes we have a viewing gallery in the indoor arena, and somewhere to view for the outdoor arena.
How much will the lessons cost?Please look at our current price list.
What other activities are there?We run a Valley Farm branch of the Pony Club, activities are held through half terms and camps in the summer holidays. During the summer we also offer rides in the fields and  cross country lessons.
How can I pay?Our terms are BACS 48hrs before lesson, new clients are asked to pay by BACS at time of booking.
What if I need to cancel?We operate a strict cancellation policy without exception.  If lessons are cancelled by 8am the previous day to the lesson the credit can be carried over to another lesson.
Can I bring my own horse/pony?Yes we welcome all clients on their own horse/pony aslong as their vaccinations are up to date.
